Who Are We? What Do We Want?

We have been compelled to organize due to our frustration at the irresponsible priorities and political elitism represented by the fate of Virginia Key and Vizcaya (condos at Mercy Hospital), as well as the weak oversight of tax money benefiting the three museums in Bicentennial Park. The takeover of park space is wrong. There has been little public input into either the planning process, the oversight of private fund raising, or comprehensive waterfront development. Endorsed by Miami Neighborhoods United and other local organizations, this campaign has been formed to pressure for greater fiscal responsibility by local government and to reallocate funding priorities based upon expanded forms of public information and civic engagement in the planning process.
