New Ideas to Help Make Miami's Waterfront a World Class Place

What ideas do others have about comprehensive planning for Miami's waterfront? Architect Bernard Zyscovich has ideas he presented to the Downtown Development Authority which are startlingly original. He takes both museums out of the park and places them elsewhere on the downtown waterfront.  Worth a look. Yet where is the plan? Why is it under wraps?

Bicentennial Park Under Siege from Museums- It's No Done Deal

Bicentennial Park is Miami's last open space and is under siege from the Miami Art Museum and the Miami Museum of Science. We are not against museums but are against taking the last large green space on the Miami waterfront for two non-water related buildings. The money, drawn from a city and a county bond issue, will clearly not pay for the grand designs that are envisioned by the museums. We are concerned that another financial fiasco will take place like that of the Performing Arts Center.

May 10 City Commission Item on MAM bond funding has apparently been deferred; debate still needs public input

It is important that Commissioners Spence-Jones, Gonzalez and Sanchez be besieged with letters and phone calls calling upon them to stop the funding for the museums in Bicentennial Park. The bond votes involved phony wording and the allocations can change with votesa from the city and county commissioners. Please write them ASAP and contact your friends to do so.
